Are you experienced in process optimisation and change management within warehouse and manufacturing sectors? Prefer having the ability to take ownership of the planning, implementation and execution of large-scale change?

This could be your perfect project!

About the role:
My client is a major supplier to the building industry in WA, servicing everyone from large scale commercial clients to “mum and dad” renovators. As a big player over an extended period, it is natural their business has grown in line with the WA building market. This growth, although positive for business has of course been followed by some common “growing pains”… now it’s time to fix them!

Their main business, located in Bayswater, has gradually expanded into surrounding work sheds, a situation which over time has caused numerous workflow deficiencies. Additionally, there are several processes which require a digitally focused makeover – including inventory management, ordering and receipting, naming conventions, and stock labelling.

The ideal applicant will have the capacity to quickly assess and understand the current situation, develop a comprehensive plan of action with respect to key deliverables, and project manage the execution of the plan. Additionally, they will look to own the process of change and associated outcomes, providing reports on progress and a final handover package encompassing SOP’s, diagrams, and future methods of scaling.

The complete job will encompass:
  • Layout and Space Utilisation – Optimising site layout and storage / racking options
  • Workflow Redesign – Update current processes to be more efficient, reduce double handling, delays, manual errors
  • Inventory and Location Mapping – Develop structured location mapping across the site, improve stock visibility
  • Technology – Support rollout of framework system for stock control and scanning
  • QA / Compliance – Implement key QA checkpoints, assess storage compliance
  • Reporting / Handover – Provide up to date reporting on planning and progress, build handover pack and help with training of key internal staff on new processes
Who are we looking for?
If you’re still reading and you tick the previously mentioned criteria, it could be you!

The successful applicant will have experience delivering optimisation and change projects for mid-large-scale businesses. Ideally, these changes will include transitions from old manual processes to modern digital and efficient ways of operating.

You will be detail focussed and have an ownership mentality that drives you to achieve the best possible outcome, we are looking for the ability to think strategically and provide unique solutions.

Whilst specific experience in similar warehouse operations would be perfect, we understand that this kind of transformation requires a unique skillset. With that, applicants with transferable experience and an understanding of workplace safety, racking / load systems and inventory tracking tools will be considered.

What do we ask from you?
  • Demonstrated experience with optimisation and change management
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and WMS systems
  • Ability to develop whole of site layout plan – Optimising space and efficient processes for both internal staff and contractors delivering / receiving stock
