Press Brake Operator

My client is a very successful, privately owned Australian company based in Wangara, that provide high precision laser cutting and fabrication services to a variety of industries throughout WA.

They are looking for experienced Press Brake machine operators to join their team on either Day or Afternoon Shifts. An industry background in engineering, fabrication or laser/plasma cutting would give you good grounding to be successful for this job.

About the Job:
You will be required to operate Bystronic press brakes and laser cutting machines to produce high quality metal components and products. Responsibilities include machine setup, operation, routine maintenance, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment. You will also need to separate and organise cut materials efficiently for downstream processes. You'll be part of a supportive, growing team that values collaboration and continuous improvement.

These are ongoing, long-term positions.

 
Key Duties:
  • Operate and monitor Bystronic press brake machine
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues
  • De-nest, inspect, and sort finished parts
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace
  • Follow safety protocols and quality standards
  • Ability to problem solve and maintain a high level of quality
About the Candidate:
  • Previous experience in Brake Press Machine operations
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hold a current Australian Forklift Licence
  • Read and interpret shop drawings 
  • Be available to work in shift environments
  • Be reliable, honest and hardworking
  • Work well with others in a team environment 
  • Have excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Be physically fit and able
  • Preferred to have the ability to create programs at the machine, but training on this aspect will be provided for the right candidates
Ongoing and detailed training in the operation of various machinery will be provided for people with a great attitude and willingness to learn

Pay Details
  • Day Shift: 7am to 3pm, 40 hr week, $40 - $45 p/h + penalties
  • Afternoon Shift: 3pm to 1am, 40hr week, $40 - $45 p/h + 20% loading (+ $8/9 per hr) + penalties
