My client is a Perth based mechanical electrical contractor specialising in wiring and automation for civil construction projects across major industry sectors in WA.
They have a reputation for providing high quality solutions with timely execution, making them a go to in their industry. With work continuing to flow in, they are now looking to add another fully qualified electrician with Mech-Elec experience to their team on a fulltime basis.
About the role:
This role will see the successful applicant work on a range of Civil, Defence, and Health projects across the Greater Perth Region. Your day generally will start on site at 7am (sometimes earlier in summer), noting you can travel straight to site from home. As the client provides a start to finish service on projects, a standard day may see you complete anything from cable tray building and install, running wiring, HVAC and switchboard installation, right through to commissioning and install of PLC’s and control systems.
Whilst most of the time work is completed on a single project from start to finish, an adaptable mindset is necessary as changing priorities may see you have to move between projects on given days.
This is a family friendly role suited to someone looking for a good work-life balance who wants to be home with family each night. The work times are generally fixed (7am-3:30pm) with overtime and weekend work being rare. Additionally, any weekend work is planned well in advance.
Who are we looking for?
At a minimum, the successful applicant will have an A-Grade WA Electrical Licence, with recent demonstrated experience in the Mech-Elec sector. You must have a positive and adaptable attitude as at times the day can change due to factors out of the control of the client. Additionally, you must be a good communicator as you will often be dealing with multiple stakeholders on projects. A White Card is a requirement, whilst additional tickets such as Working at Heights, First Aid and EWP are preferred but not essential.
The client understands that the role is broad and does not expect that the successful applicant will be able to come in and do everything right away. They are focused on staff development and will provide guidance on specific areas where needed. There is also long-term opportunities to learn in the Automation Space from their internal Engineering team should that be of interest.
