About the Role
Our client is a WA owned and operated Steel Fabrication manufacturer based in Northern suburbs and servicing Perth for over 50 years. We are looking to add a youthful Trades Assistant with experience in assembly of metal components and use of hand power tools.This is a long term rewarding entry level position for the right candidate with great attitude and energy.The ideal candidate is proactive, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Some understanding of reading of technical drawings
- Competent & safe handling of workshop power hand tools
- Working to the pace of the set job production timeframes
- Assisting with packing of wall & truss packs ready for transport. (Forklift license an advantage)
- Using the strap packing machine
- Responsibility of issued trolley & hand tools
- General house keeping to maintain a clean safe work area.
- Some experience in similar workshop environment
You will ideally have:
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and be RELIABLE.
- Previous experience in a workshop or warehouse role.
- A current LF Forklift Licence. (preferred)
- A current Drivers license
- Exp using various hand power tools
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
