  • Huge earning opportunity with a range of benefits included
  • Rural facility – 2 hours from Perth
 About the Role:

We are currently on the search for a progressive Production Manager from a manufacturing / mechanical background who has the capacity to take the reins and confidently run operations across whole of site.
Working for an industry leading company with a national footprint, the successful applicant will report to heads of business on the East Coast. This means you will have the freedom of running operations autonomously, however there will always be high-level support on hand.
As above, the role is roughly two hours East of Perth and realistically demands that the successful applicant will live there through the week. Accommodation is provided by the client (for family if required) and the wage is reflective of the working outside the Perth Metro area.
The role itself is a boots on the ground position and is suited to someone who can lead from the front, get involved in the day to day when necessary, and take ownership over safe and efficient output. There is an emphasis on machinery, and the most suitable applicants will have a mechanical background with the ability to understand when operating equipment issues can be diagnosed and fixed on site, or when external suppliers need to be contacted.
The day to day of the role may include:
  • Oversite and ownership of production throughput
  • Maintaining safe working environment
  • Build relationships with local suppliers and contacts
  • Liaising with external contractors (maintenance, transport etc.)
  • Staffing and rostering duties
  • Be a key influence on decision making for facility upgrades and processes
  • Organisation of workflow
  • Quality control
  • Inventory management
  • Communicating with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring the team are happy and productive
Who are we looking for?

The successful applicant will be a natural leader who enjoys being in the action with the team, this is far from an office bound role!
Your ability to communicate and motivate staff will be key to ensuring sustained output over an extended period.Ideally, you will have a mechanical background and previous exposure to high throughput production environments. As the role has a wide scope of responsibility, you will be organised and process driven.
Additionally, you will be a natural relationship builder who is happy to interact with key suppliers in the area, have them at the facility or go and see their operations at times.
To be considered you will have:
  • Mechanical / Fitting experience (quals preferred)
  • Previous leadership experience in production environments
  • Understanding of machine maintenance and preventative schedules
  • Ability to identify production bottlenecks
  • Experience with production planning
  • Ability to work with skilled and unskilled workers
  • Inventory control
  • Understanding of logistics
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Safety first mentality
  • Ability to communicate and get the best out of the team
  • Ownership mentality
  • Ability to use software for administrative and system functions
In addition, you must be happy to live in a rural location at least Monday to Friday. The client is understanding and flexible on schedules given the operating capacity of the facility is not compromised.
