Workplace Bullying and Harassment
WHAT IS WORKPLACE BULLYING AND HARASSMENT
Workplace bullying is repeated, unreasonable behaviour directed towards an individual or group that creates a risk to health and safety. It can be verbal, physical, or psychological and may occur in person, over the phone, or through digital communication such as messages, emails, or social media.
Harassment is a form of discrimination and can relate to characteristics such as gender, race, disability, or membership of a particular group.
IRP maintains a zero tolerance approach to bullying and harassment across all company and client sites.
SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Sexual harassment is a serious breach of workplace standards and individual rights.
It can include inappropriate comments, gestures, explicit language, or unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature. This type of conduct is unacceptable and must be addressed immediately.
PREVENTING BULLYING AND HARASSMENT
Reporting and Responsibility
All workers are responsible for maintaining a respectful workplace.
If bullying or harassment is experienced or witnessed, it must be reported to a supervisor or IRP representative. Early reporting allows appropriate action to be taken and helps prevent ongoing issues.
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Bullying and harassment are workplace risks, not just personal issues. If it is not addressed, it impacts safety, wellbeing, and team performance.
