Toolbox Talk Delivery Tips

When delivering this toolbox talk it is suggested that you run the participants through the range of eye hazards they may be exposed to in their work environment, then have them think about and discuss what impact the loss of sight might have on their lifestyle and their family and friends.

It might help to remind them of the saying: You don’t know what you’ve got till you lose it

The aim of this process is to highlight, the employees role in identifying eye hazards (and all others) in the workplace, so that risk assessments can be undertaken and the appropriate elimination or control measures put in place. This undertaking and reporting culture will ultimately lead to a safer and healthier workplace for everyone.

Note: To achieve maximum impact and up-take of this safety message, it is recommended that you reaffirm your workplace hazard and incident reporting process in conjunction with the delivery of this month’s toolbox talk.
